8 days is the most flexible classic Egypt route. You get an extra full day compared to the 7-day Classic — and most travelers use it for one of two things: a pre-dawn Abu Simbel visit on the cruise side (without losing temple time at Luxor), or an extra Cairo afternoon for the Citadel of Saladin and Coptic quarter. Pace is identical to the 7-day Classic; you just don't have to choose what to skip.

Why choose this 8 days Egypt route?

The most flexible classic route. The extra day means you can add Abu Simbel without losing temple time, or you can do a slow Cairo day with the Citadel and Coptic quarter.

What it feels like: Almost identical to the 7-day classic but with one bonus full day — usually used for Abu Simbel or extra Cairo time.

Common questions about this Egypt itinerary

Is 8 days enough to add Abu Simbel?

Yes — the 8-day version specifically includes time for an optional pre-dawn Abu Simbel visit on the Aswan day. The 7-day version makes you choose between Abu Simbel and rest.

What's the difference between 7-day and 8-day Egypt itineraries?

Practically: the 8-day adds one full day in either Cairo or for Abu Simbel. The 4-night cruise stays the same. Pricing typically differs by ~$150-300 per person.

Can I extend this to 10 days?

Yes — most travelers add Alexandria or extra Luxor time. See our 10-Day Classic itinerary.
