Diving, value, early autumn cruises

The first half still feels like summer. By the last week Cairo is noticeably pleasant and Upper Egypt is manageable for longer stretches, which makes late September a quietly excellent time to travel.

For divers this is the month. The water is still holding its summer warmth and visibility is at its best of the year, before the autumn crowds arrive on the coast.

Cruise schedules build back up through September, and pricing usually stays in low-season territory until the last week.
