Inland, June is a dawn-start month. Giza at opening time is comfortable and almost empty; Giza at one in the afternoon is a mistake. Our June itineraries are built around that fact rather than fighting it.

On the coast it is a straightforward beach holiday with five thousand years of history an hour's flight away. Water temperature is around 27 degrees and visibility for diving is at its best.

Prices inland are the lowest of the year. If the heat is something you can plan around, June buys more trip per pound than any other month.

Sharm & Sinai Day Tours

Sinai in June is the easy half of the country: warm water, strong visibility, and shade whenever you want it.

Desert & Oasis Trips

Desert trips run early and late in June. The heat is real, but so is having the place entirely to yourself.

What June is actually like

  • The longest days of the year - early starts buy a lot of sightseeing.
  • Peak visibility for Red Sea diving and snorkelling.
  • The lowest inland prices you will find.
  • Upper Egypt is genuinely hot. Midday is for shade, not temples.
  • Egypt itself stays quiet even as European school holidays begin.

What to pack for June

  • Loose cotton or linen only.
  • Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen you will actually reapply.
  • Swimwear and a rash vest for long snorkelling sessions.
  • Rehydration salts.
  • A bottle you refill constantly.

Frequently asked

Is June a sensible time to visit Egypt?

For the Red Sea, yes without reservation. For a Cairo and Upper Egypt itinerary it is workable with dawn starts and long afternoon breaks, and it is the cheapest month to do it.

How warm is the Red Sea in June?

Around 27 C - warm enough to snorkel for hours without a wetsuit.

Is Ramadan in June?

Ramadan moves about eleven days earlier each year, so it depends on the year. Tell us your dates and we will say plainly what is open, what closes early, and how it changes the itinerary.

Can I still see the pyramids comfortably?

Yes, at opening time. We start Giza early in June and keep the afternoon free.
